Messaging on ScoutEvo

Composing conversations, organizing your inbox with labels and filters, and managing notification settings.

ScoutEvo's messaging system is designed for recruiting conversations — not general chat. Every conversation is with a specific person, and your inbox has tools to keep things organized as your volume grows.

Starting a new conversation

  1. Go to Messages in the top nav
  2. Click the pencil/compose icon in the top-left of the sidebar
  3. Search for a player by name
  4. Click their name to open a new conversation

You can also start a conversation directly from a player's profile by clicking Message.

Note

Free players can start up to 5 new conversations per month; free staff get up to 10. Pro accounts have unlimited messaging.

Inbox filters

Use the filters at the top of your inbox to quickly surface relevant conversations:

  • All — every conversation
  • Players — conversations with player accounts only
  • Staff — conversations with other coaches, scouts, and staff
  • Unread — conversations with unread messages
  • Starred — conversations you've starred
  • Archived — archived conversations (hidden from main inbox)

Labels

Create custom labels to organize conversations — for example, "USPHL Prospects," "2025 Forwards," or "Follow up." Click the ⋯ menu on any conversation row to add or remove a label. Filter by label using the label list in the left sidebar.

Starring & archiving

Star important conversations to keep them accessible. Archive conversations you're done with to clean up your inbox without deleting the history.

Attachments

Send images and files directly in conversations. Supported formats include JPG, PNG, PDF, and common document types.

Notification settings

Go to Settings → Notifications to control how you're notified about new messages — in-app only, or in-app plus email.
